The new year has arrived, bringing new RVing opportunities for travelers of all kinds. As 2026 begins, RV manufacturers are rolling out new models that blend technology, comfort, and practical design, while destinations across the country continue to expand with new resorts and attractions.
Whether you’re a seasoned RVer or just starting, this year offers fresh ways to enjoy the RV lifestyle, from innovative upgrades and family-friendly floor plans to new places to visit and new ways to make use of your RV on and off the road.
New RV models designed for modern travel
With more families traveling year-round and homeschooling their kids on the open road, manufacturers have taken that into account when designing this year’s models. Manufacturers are adding more convenience features and modern capabilities to floor plans, appliances, and bedding.
The 2026 market is ideal for those seeking a luxurious model that integrates with modern apps and safety monitoring.
New RV innovations
2026 has come in with a bang, with new gadgets, innovations, and driver-friendly technologies. For instance:
- App-managed controls for thermostat temperature settings, checking water levels, and monitoring the battery levels.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections are ideal for remote workers or for streaming options for the young ones. Luxury models are also available, featuring outdoor sound systems and large, flat-screen TV units.
- Off-grid capabilities are even better with upgrades such as solar panels, LED lighting, and lithium batteries. Less charging is a huge benefit of these upgrades.
- Tankless water heaters, energy-saving and full-size refrigerators, ovens and stovetops, along with exterior kitchen appliances and grilling stations.
- Electric awnings packed with weather sensors and LED lighting. These awnings will automatically retract when the winds are high. No more fighting tornado-like winds to pull the awning in yourself.
- Additional safety features include tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) that automatically monitor tire pressure in real time. When tire pressure drops significantly, the system sends an alert, giving you time to pull over and possibly prevent a blowout.
Families and groups traveling together will love the additions to the interior layout. Some new models offer bunk beds that convert into daytime seating areas.
Additionally, manufacturers heard the call to place larger beds in new models. Many RVs this year boast king-size beds that should provide a restful night’s sleep after a long day of driving. Loft spaces for the kids are ideal for both sleep and play. A few models even offer a ‘hidden room’ that features bunk beds and a quiet space for the young ones.
Another new innovation found within the new year’s models is the spacious interior layouts. These spacious floor plans increase the living space by adding high ceilings and more practical cabinet designs. Pair the extra room with luxurious countertops and backsplashes, and you’ll find that spending time inside the RV has never been fancier.

New places to visit
Along with new RV models, RV resorts and RV-friendly destinations are giving RVers more reasons to hit the road.
Across the nation, new RV resorts are popping up alongside well-established campgrounds that are also expanding and adding amenities. Additionally, new attractions are opening from sea to shining sea that compel a trip to that city. Here are a few examples.
Orlando, Florida
Not a new location, but a new attraction within a traveler’s favorite town. Universal Studios opened a much-anticipated park in 2025. Universal Epic Universe consists of five amazing worlds within one new theme park.
Matching the excitement of a trip to this new Universal park is the nearby Thousand Trails RV resort. A short drive from Universal, this pet-friendly resort offers many amenities to make the best of your time in Orlando.
Williamsburg, Michigan
The spring of 2025 brought about an exciting new RV Park. The Turtle Creek RV Park, located at the Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel, offers road warriors a great location for popular events in Williamsburg. While you’re visiting, you can take in the Traverse City Horse Show and enjoy staying and playing at this new resort.
New income
Put your RV to good use instead of storing it. When you can’t travel, consider renting your RV to prescreened prospects to gain a bit more income.
If you like the idea of making income from your vehicle but don’t want to let a stranger drive it, consider delivering it to renters at a nearby campground. Renting out a stationary RV is less worrisome than letting a renter drive it. Once the renter books and pays for your RV through a platform like RVezy, Outdoorsy, or RVshare, just drop the RV off at the renter’s designated location.
New year, new RV
Out with the old, and in with the new. Extend your New Year’s resolution into the month of love this February by following through with the plan of selling your RV and/or purchasing a new-to-you RV. With all the new bells and whistles added to 2025 and 2026 models, you might be thinking of an upgrade or a first-time purchase.
